Meet The Committee
Institution: University of Sussex Profile: I am the Head of Global Mobility at the University of Sussex, and have been working in international and higher education for 21 years in British and Australian universities. Primarily, I’ve spent most of my career so far managing study abroad and international student recruitment teams, though I’ve also been involved in student services and advising, transnational education and residential housing. My interest in study abroad started when I studied abroad myself during my university degree, undertaking an immersive Arabic language semester in Kuwait City.
Institution: Nottingham Trent University Profile: I am the International Mobility Manager at the Nottingham Trent University and have been working in International Education field for the past nine years. In my role I lead on management and development of student mobility programmes at NTU. I am a co-chair of Study Abroad Forum, I manage a large scale Global Opportunities Showcase and also oversee the University’s relationship with the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). I am passionate about the internationalisation, intercultural communication and I enjoy working with international students.
Marketing and Communications Officer
Institution: University of Southampton Profile: After completing my Undergraduate degree at the University of Southampton, I have been working there for nearly 6 years now. I have been working in the International Office for nearly 4 years with the last 2 being in the Study Abroad and Exchange Team. I started as the co-ordinator for outbound activity and I am now the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager at the University of Southampton, in charge of overseeing and developing all study abroad activities.
Institution: SOAS University of London Profile: Inspired by my own year abroad in Canada, I have held several roles within study abroad and exchange teams. Having spent several years at University of East Anglia (UEA), I joined SOAS University of London in 2021 as the Study Abroad Officer. Recently I have been appointed SOAS' Head of Study Abroad and Short Courses, with a focus on developing and expanding our study abroad offerings.
Institution: University of Nottingham Profile: I am a Global Engagement Manager at the University of Nottingham. I have worked in international higher education for over ten years and my main areas of focus are international summer schools and short-term study abroad opportunities for undergraduate students and widening access to study abroad opportunities.

Institution: University of Birmingham Profile: I have spent the majority of my professional career in the UK working for various Further Education and Higher Education institutions in the international education arena before joining the University of Birmingham in 2016 as the Head of Study Abroad and Exchange where I manage strategy and operations, including incoming and outgoing functions as well as the relationship with and development of exchange partners globally. I am passionate about student mobility and the opportunity that it provides students to develop both academically and personally, especially working with students from widening participation backgrounds.

Institution: University of Salford Profile: I have lived, worked and/or studied in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Australia and joined the University of Salford in May 2018 where I manage inbound and outbound exchanges (International Exchange, Erasmus+ and Study Abroad) as well as Internationalisation at Home activities.

Institution: University of Hull Profile: I am the Head of Global Experience at the University of Hull. My remit covers study abroad, summer opportunities, short courses, English language pre-sessionals and in-sessionals, foreign language provision and improving the International experience on campus. Never a dull or quiet day! In my previous role I worked as a Global Programmes officer at the University of York, so have worked on student exchange and summer options for many years.

Institution: Birmingham City University Profile: I am the Head of Operations for Mobility and Partnerships at Birmingham City University. I am passionate about creating international opportunities for students and staff, and have had the privilege of working on a wide range of exciting international projects, including international recruitment, TNE partnerships and student mobility.
Co-opted Committee Member (Inbound Forum)
Institution: University of Glasgow Profile: I have worked in the field of international education for around 25 years, initially beginning my career at the University of Abertay where I worked for 2 years as International Recruitment Officer. I joined the University of Glasgow in 1998 to work as the incoming study abroad officer and following some years in that post, progressed to managing the inbound and outbound exchange programme. I moved into my current role as Study Abroad Partnerships Manager in 2019 focussing on development, recruitment, agreements and partnership liaison.
After graduating from university, I spent over 10 years managing international programs and supporting volunteers and students undertaking placements in multiple countries spanning Africa, Asia, the Americas, Oceania and Europe. Upon moving to Australia, I managed the International Leadership Development program at the University of Technology Sydney sending 400 students a year on international placements to gain a global leadership experience. I am excited to use my experience to support BUTEX in their endeavours to promote learning abroad.
