As a Muslim girl, it is unknown for people like me to travel, especially alone and to the other side of the world for a month. My name is Maryam Patel, and I have been offered a placement with think pacific in Bali from June 29 until July 26th. This is an amazing opportunity for me to broaden my knowledge and explore other cultures and become more independent. Growing up, I have always struggled with confidence. This placement will help me find myself again. During the placement, I will be living in a Balinese village and working with local charities and coming up with creative ways to improve the community issues.
