Excelia summer school in France - My path Towards Sustainable and Responsible usiness for Future generations

I am honoured to be accepted to Excelia Summer School for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Event Management (https://www.excelia-group.com/our-programmes/languages-and-cultures/summer-winter-school). As a student dietitian and personal trainer working with adults, kids, and families, I consider this opportunity a vital step towards building a sustainable, socially responsible business that puts people and the planet first, while also thriving financially. I am aiming to learn how to build a sustainable, profitable business that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, which create a safer, healthier world for future generations, by caring for people and our planet.
In modern world, it is essential for business owners and managers to look beyond profit and consider the future of the next generations and the environment. My experience organising large educational events for youth with the volunteering organisation ManGO in Ukraine, and working as a student ambassador at Glasgow Caledonian University, has shown me the importance and complexity of balancing efficiency, the well-being of people involved and the wise use of resources. I believe that learning from the successful French business, through case studies and company visits, will inspire me to create a business model based on social responsibility, care, and innovation. The chance to gain insights from experienced tutors and exchange cultural perspectives with other participants is invaluable for my professional and personal growth.
The CSR course will equip me with the management skills needed to understand the unique challenges of CSR and implement effective strategies in my future business. From the Event Management component, I am aiming to learn the principles of planning, promoting, and delivering impactful events, how to manage teams successfully, and how to evaluate outcomes. I believe that with new knowledge and skills, I will be able to organise community health events and wellness projects with a strong ethical foundation.
Speaking about the travel to France, I am committed to keeping my journey as sustainable as possible. Instead of taking two flights from Glasgow to La Rochelle with a stop in London, I chose to do my UK part of the journey by train in order to reduce my carbon footprint, although it requires additional time and cost. On the way back, I will continue this approach by using trains and public transport rather than taxis or additional flights whenever possible. I believe that protecting our planet is not just a choice, but a duty we owe to future generations.
Receiving the BUTEX grant would make my dream of studying in a business school in France a reality. It would help me to travel sustainably and gain the critical skills to use responsible, planet-friendly practices in my work as a dietitian and fitness trainer, as well as create volunteering events in my community. I am determined to use this experience to create a positive impact, not only in my own business but in the broader community, where I hope to inspire others to become responsible members of society who value people and the planet above their own needs.
