Lucid Dream

Packing my Calpak, shrouded in recycled petals,
I’m ready for Malaysia’s nature medals.
Land of the Malays, beyond oceans it settles,
Concealing tropic gem, where green hope nettles.

Cultural Centre UKM, Lagenda Park and many more,
Will give us loads of topics to explore.
Sustainability of natural resources plan,
With mission to extend earth’s lifespan.

On A350 wings, with fuel-saved sustainable blueprint,
I’ll soar to Malaysia, reckoning my carbon footprint.
I dream of rails, a greener journey’s span,
Though it would take me more than 80 hours then.

Carbon offsets are hard to grasp –
You often hear people gasp.
Planting some trees, supporting solar projects,
Reducing CO2 emissions rate –
Must be the only way to save the planet’s fate.

The price for round trip to KL is vicious:
Around 3 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Would 40 pounds of cash unseen,
Support the greater mission – SDG 15?

Upon arrival to Malaysia,
A soul adrift in sweet fantasia,
I’ll open up a flask of tea
To simply keep it plastic-free.

In presentation to the hosts,
We’ll chat about the transport ghosts:
Skateboards, e-bikes, and even scooters,
Could help in fight against polluters.

The goal itself may sound too corny,
No doubt, the path ahead is thorny.
With every stride to save the nature,
You should be ready for the venture.

Just maybe, in the centuries to come,
Mankind could change the tragic outcome.
