So many places to visit in this vast Nation,
Leaving me to ask a one big Question,
Will there be any green transportation?
First stop the capital,
Ottawa, Ontario was valuable,
Staying just over the border in Gatineau,
A bus, a New Language, and experiences ensue,
Using French, I got to visit parliament,
Taking the buses was a strong argument,
I would not let this undertaking fail,
This was where I ate delicious beavertail,
This Local transportation system,
Aided me in my green mission.
Now I must venture West, to further my Quest.
Vancouver became my next place of rest,
water taxis were next on my list
using them was a great hit,
Whale watching with a naturalist,
So many facts, I could not resist,
Helping sea life by keeping a distance,
All while admiring their beautiful existence.
A day trip to Whistler,
Via a Coach was a thriller,
A Stanley park educational tour,
Allowed me to learn Indigenous historic lore,
Taking a ferry not a flight to Victoria,
I was able to explore all the island had to offer,
Buying handmade trinkets from local venders,
Was a great way to remember this adventure.
Training from Quebec city to Toronto.
Helped to reduced greenhouse gases pronto,
Quebec’s architecture of old,
was a sight of beauty to behold,
With many Churches for me to explore,
This city had lots of heritage that I could adore,
Visiting Albert Gilles’ copper art studio,
Their family business was a legacy they upheld,
While the craftsmanship was something to be marvelled,
Thus, I left there with a carved moose plate,
A Souvenir so special, to buy it was fate,
Eating local seasonally sourced food at Le Clan,
Responsible consumption became part of my plan.
On the way I stopped at Montreal to admire their cuisine and history too,
I spent a lot of time planning what to do,
Walking, walking everywhere,
Not a minute to spare,
I trekked an hour to behold
Canada’s famous liquid gold,
keeping my heart in good condition,
walking to the 12 course syrup tasting, fuelled my expedition.
The final destination on my trip was Toronto,
Canada’s most diverse city,
It was very pretty,
The Hustle and bustle around every turn,
So many new things to explore and learn,
Taking a factual walking tour from a local,
He was great and very vocal,
Passion and pride with every stride,
This tour was a great base to start my short reside,
Going up the CN tower, with my hands clenched,
Visiting Niagara falls while getting drenched,
In the end Seeing the blue Jays,
was one of my best days.
Returning home with all these memories on my phone,
I must reflect on what is now known,
Thus, with the end of my Green Quest,
The Question of sustainability had been put to the test,
Should Canada have eco- friendly, positive Press?
The answer of course is Yes.
