Travel and sustainability are inextricably intertwined,
For travel should not exist without sustainability,
And sustainability cannot exist without considering travel.
As an adventurous person who travels,
I soak up new experiences, new people, scenery and culture.
Passionate about promoting a clean environment for other youth, and for those who exist after us,
Consideration of travel in sustainability is important to our culture.
To promote eco-friendly travel,
I will choose a direct flight from London to Toronto;
Bring only one suitcase;
And fly economy class.
TravelPerk’s GreenPerk API
Helps track and offset carbon emissions.
During my time in Canada,
I will buy a bus pass, and plan to walk as a method of transport whenever is possible:
Walking is one of life’s simple pleasures –
A good way to stay fit and healthy, breathe in the fresh air, and take in lovely views.
I even find that the more I walk, the more do,
So I will continue to share this with others abroad.
Ecosia’s search engine
Uses 100% of the ad revenue from your searches to plant trees,
Helping to make the air more clean.
SDG twelve concerns “Responsible Consumption and Production,”
While SDG thirteen speaks of “Climate Action,”
Yet both are, once again,
Inextricably intertwined.
AWorld in Support of ActNow – designed directly with the SDGs in mind –
Offers tips to reduce our carbon footprint and help track habits and activities.
In line with SDG twelve,
I will shop weekly, buying small amounts of food
To prevent food waste;
Turn the radiator on only in the Cold Canadian months
With clothes and a blanket always coming first;
Buy new clothes and equipment from Goodwill,
Which I am already excited to visit,
Living responsibly as a consumer and producer.
SDG thirteen is woven into all the above:
The direct flights, one suitcase, economy class,
The bus pass, walks,
The responsible use of radiators, second-hand shops,
All act as Climate’s Guardians.
Contributing to a cleaner environment
Benefits every organism,
Bringing pretty sights and fresh smells for humans
And suitable environments for animals
And ultimately, health for us all.
Hence, I will pick up rubbish where I see it,
Of course, never dropping my own,
And I will call out others who do it,
For these things should not be thrown.
Klima
Provides suggestions for food, transportation, and lifestyle changes that help to reduce our carbon footprint.
I will reuse bottles and containers,
Never buying bottles and bottles and bottles of water,
Drinking from the tap,
Like a responsible consumer and producer.
