When the earth is green I will return its favours
I will water it and plant seeds in the ground I have stepped on
I will nourish and tend to the soil
And I will make sure that it grows
Soon I will fly to Spain
I will soar over the world in a machine that doesn’t know
I will fly so I will walk
I will pay back what I owe
I will move my feet forward
They say I can take the bus
I will walk and take the bus because this air is precious
It is mine and it is ours and we will care for it
I will consume and produce responsibly
I will eat no meat because I do not need to and I rarely do
And I love, I really love tofu
Everyone always hates on tofu but it’s really good (especially when smoked)
It is easy to walk through unthinking
Drinking it all in and forgetting to refill the tank
But I will be stricter
I am lucky to have two legs that work and I will use them
I will not waste my food
I will not waste my clothes
I will not waste my time or that of others
Green is green not just by colour
Green is life, flourishing and blooming and growing
Green is growing
Goal four
I will contribute to a quality education
I will teach and share my knowledge
I will help them to speak my language whilst I talk back in theirs
We will share and we will learn together
Being aware is not a burden
It is a knowledge
My food and my water
My electricity, my gas, my air, my time
Are finite
I will not worry but cherish them
All of them
The earth is green now
For now it is still green
And my watering can is
Too
