Montreal is a leader in sustainability, making it the ideal destination for my study abroad experience. I look forward to immersing myself in its bilingual environment while promoting responsible consumption and environmental awareness. As a developing writer, I am determined to apply my storytelling skills toward eco-conscious initiatives during my placement. By documenting and sharing my journey using public transit and walking routes, I will highlight low-carbon ways of exploring Montreal, committing to supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities. I’ll also leverage my fundraising background to support environmental causes on campus—organising donation drives for reusable water bottles or partnering with student groups to sponsor tree-planting events. Through this experience, I hope to foster a deeper connection to sustainability, further developing both academically and personally while contributing to a greener future.
