Aarhus beckons like a dream.
A summer school in far-off lands,
Embracing sustainability’s guiding hands.
Only necessary, Boeing 737 we fly,[1]
Lowest emission, 87kg CO2e in the sky.[2]
Economy seat, a direct flight,
To Aarhus, we travel light.
Trains, not planes, for closer trails,
With TrainPal, we track the rails. (SDG 13: Climate Action)
Ecologi plants for miles we roam, [3]
Using our green points to make trees home.
Bike-sharing schemes for all to use, (SDG 11: Sustainable Community)
Reduces traffic, air abuse.
Electric buses, clean and quiet,
A green commute, we all admire it.[4]
In Aarhus, at Danhostel we stay,
Rooms we share to green our way,
From roof terrace veggies, meals we make,
Recycled furniture, steps we take.[5]
Green Key certification lead the way,[6]
Environmental care in their sway.
Energy, water and waste kept lean,
Eco-friendly, behind the scenes.
Vegetarian meals, our daily fare, (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption)
With reusable cutlery, we’re aware.[7]
Sustainably sourced, local delights,
Seasonal food, our planet’s rights.
Too Good To Go, food shared, not tossed,[8] (SDG 2: Zero Hunger)
Reducing waste, at little cost.
Composting bins, waste we segregate,
In sustainable eating, we celebrate.
Swapping clothes in eco fairs, (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption)
Reducing waste with stylish flairs.
Eco-friendly detergents flow,
In laundries where green choices grow.
E-textbooks guide my study’s quest,[9]
Wi-Fi over mobile saves energy best.[10] (SDG 7: Sustainable Energy)
Replying emails only, when necessary,[11]
Sustainable learning, thoughtfully.
On campus, energy-wise we tread,[12]
Natural light, our rooms are fed.
LEDs glow as night descends,
Stairs we climb, energy friends.
Through Mols Bjerge’s trails, we roam, (SDG 15: Life on land)
Kayaking Gudenåen, life’s rhythm we know. (SDG 14: Life below water)
On land and water, nature’s song,
In Aarhus’ embrace, where we belong.[13]
In AU’s Green Network, all hands unite,[14] (SDG 17: Partnership)
Students, staff, for green insight.
Ideas flow, knowledge gains bright,
Partnership and commitment, our eco-light.
Summer school teach the skills we need, (SDG 4: Quality education)
To mend and make, not just to feed.
We learn, we teach, we weave the strands,
Of global truths, of varied lands.
Different cultures, practices blend, (SDG 16: Peace)
On sustainability, we depend.
A global network, hearts combined,
In quest of future’s better kind.
Empowered now, our visions clear,
Of actions’ worth and impacts near.
We pledge to make our travels light,
To keep our future ever bright.
Together, minds and hearts engage,
To script the future’s greener page.
Aarhus teaches, we embrace,
